The 36th An­caster Life­style Home Show has just about ev­ery­thing a home­owner could want, from roofers to re­place­ment win­dows, kitchens to bath­rooms, re­pairs to ren­o­va­tions, air con­di­tion­ers to sun­rooms. Get­ting sappy

It’s the first week­end for some maple syrup demon­stra­tions and fes­ti­vals. Sweet Water Sea­son runs Feb. 25 to April 2 on week­ends, hol­i­days and March break from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sweet­wa­ter demon­stra­tions are at 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m. and con­clude with a tasty morsel of corn­bread soaked in maple syrup. Craw­ford Lake Con­ser­va­tion Area is lo­cated at 3115 Con­ser­va­tion Rd. in Milton. con­ser­va­tion­hal­ton.ca Maple Town runs Feb. 25 to April 2 on week­ends, hol­i­days and March break from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mounts­berg Wildlife Cen­tre is lo­cated at 2259 Mil­burough Line in Camp­bel­lville. The park will tap about 400 trees and the wa­tery sap will trans­form into sweet maple syrup in the Sugar Shanty. Knock, knock

The an­nual Hamil­ton Wood Show at the Cana­dian War­plane Her­itage Mu­seum con­tin­ues Satur­day and Sun­day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Check out the lat­est hand tools, power tools, de­sign trends, fin­ishes and wood kits. Tick­ets at the door are $15 for adults, $14 for se­niors and youth (13-17) and $25 for a week­end pass. Park­ing is free. The mu­seum is lo­cated at 9280 Air­port Rd. in Mount Hope.

Orchid show

Thou­sands of orchid blooms can be seen at the an­nual Spring Orchid Show and Sale Satur­day and Sun­day at the Royal Botan­i­cal Gar­dens, 680 Plains Rd. W., Burlington. Judged by the Amer­i­can Orchid So­ci­ety, it fea­tures orchid dis­plays by so­ci­eties and grow­ers from across Canada and the United States. There are also flower ar­range­ments, paint­ing, pho­to­graphs and plant sales. Doors are open Satur­day from noon to 5 p.m. and Sun­day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pho­tog­ra­phers’ Sun­day ses­sion is from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Ad­mis­sion to the show is free with ad­mis­sion to the gar­dens.
