RE: The soup guy (Feb. 22)

Af­ter be­ing bom­barded with re­ports of hor­ren­dous hap­pen­ings the world over (not to men­tion the daily Trump lies and fear-mon­ger­ing), what a day-bright­ener to read Kelly Nose­wor­thy’s de­light­ful piece on Roger Boyd. If ever a re­ward was given for the big­gest heart in these parts, it would go to him.

I know there are many lo­cal groups and or­ga­ni­za­tions who are vol­un­teer­ing their time to help the less for­tu­nate among us, but he has done more in so many ways, com­pletely on his own, and all this while still hold­ing down a full-time job.

Ku­dos to the priest at Flam­bor­ough Bap­tist Church and his thought-pro­vok­ing mes­sage: “Find your min­istry by show­ing love.” Truer words were never spo­ken. Vir­ginia Coombs, Stoney Creek
