Brothers, 8 and 6, crash pickup at Tim Hortons trying to get breakfast

The Hamilton Spectator - - LOCAL -

JARVIS — An eight-year-old boy was caught behind the wheel of a pickup truck with his six-year-old brother in the passenger seat after they crashed while trying to get some breakfast at Tim Hortons.

An employee at the Main Street North coffee shop in Jarvis called police shortly before 7 a.m. Thursday after the pickup appeared to lose control near the drive-thru, travelling over a curb and into a field where it was stuck, said Haldimand County OPP spokesperson Const. Rod LeClair.

The employee went to check on the occupants and found the two boys uninjured inside. The pickup was not damaged.

LeClair says the boys took the pickup from their residence and wanted to get some breakfast. They were turned over to their parents who attended the scene.

No charges were laid.
