Arrests made in home invasion
A Hamilton man has been arrested in Niagara Falls following a report of a violent home invasion.
Niagara police responded to the area of Forsythe Street and Slater Avenue in the Falls at 5 a.m. Saturday. Police said they found a violent struggle had taken place between the lone occupant of the residence and four to six suspects who had forced their way in — and that the struggle involved weapons.
Police say this was not a random act and the residence had been targeted. Police add that while they were at the residence, the victim, a 24-year-old Niagara Falls man, assaulted the officers and he was subsequently arrested. The suspects had fled the scene before police arrived, but a short time later, two men who arrived at a local hospital with serious injuries were found to be suspects in the home invasion.
Charged with robbery are Cody Taylor, 28, of Hamilton and Derek Horth, 25, of Niagara Falls.
