Wartime bombs found dur­ing con­struc­tion

About 50,000 peo­ple re­turned to their homes in Han­nover on Sun­day af­ter a nine-hour evac­u­a­tion or­ga­nized to al­low bomb-dis­posal ex­perts to defuse three Sec­ond World War bombs dis­cov­ered at a con­struc­tion site. Such finds are not un­usual in Ger­many, which was heav­ily bombed by Al­lied planes.
