GREEN-THUMBED VICTORIANS

The Hamilton Spectator - - LOCAL -

It’s a busy time for Helen Sluis at Dundurn Castle’s garden. With the recent rains, preparing the garden for this year’s crop is about two weeks behind. This is the only time garden demonstrators can wear their regular modern clothes since they have to be in period costume most of the time. The many varieties of the fruits, vegetables and herbs grown in the garden are consistent with the historical period of Dundurn Castle.
