Girl, 13, ap­proached by man on Moun­tain

Hamil­ton po­lice are look­ing for a man they say ap­proached a 13-year-old girl, grabbed her hand and tried to get her to leave with him. The in­ci­dent be­gan around 4 p.m. Thurs­day in the area of Mo­hawk Road West and South­lea Drive, po­lice said.

The sus­pect is de­scribed as a skinny, white man in his 50s, five-foot-eight, with a large grey beard. His skin was “dirty” and he wore a brown hooded sweat­shirt, ribbed brown or black gloves, dark shorts, white shoes and no socks. He was smok­ing cig­a­rettes and had yel­low-stained teeth with a miss­ing front tooth. Any­one with in­for­ma­tion is asked to call Det.
