The Hamilton Spectator - - LOCAL -

The local French Catholic school board has a new name. The board officially unveiled its new name — Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir — and branding on May 10.

The name “MonAvenir” was chosen, the board said, to encapsulate the attributes of faith, modernity, distinction, excellence, a welcoming approach and inclusion.

“You are all part of the … MonAvenir community,” said André Blais, director of education.

The board, headquartered in North York, was previously known as Conseil scolaire de district catholique Centre-Sud.

In Hamilton, the board operates Monseigneur-de-Laval and NotreDame elementary schools, along with Académie catholique MèreTeresa high school.
