Restored 1906 train sta­tion to open July 1

Burling­ton’s Free­man Sta­tion will host its of­fi­cial rib­bon cut­ting and ded­i­ca­tion cer­e­mony Satur­day, July 1 be­gin­ning at 10:45 a.m. The sta­tion will then be open for visi­tors to view the restora­tion progress be­tween 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The his­toric 1906 rail­way sta­tion is be­ing restored and man­aged by vol­un­teers with the non-profit Friends of Free­man Sta­tion. Work on the build­ing and sur­round­ing site be­gan in 2014.
