Police searching for four suspects in armed home invasion and robbery

The Hamilton Spectator - - LOCAL -

Hamilton police have released suspect descriptions of four men wanted following an armed home invasion on Roxborough Avenue Saturday.

The men, who were armed with what appeared to be a gun and an “edged weapon,” arrived at the home shortly before 11 p.m., looking for “individuals,” police said.

They approached one victim who left the house, stole car keys and then entered the house.

The suspects allegedly stole a small amount of cash before the victim was able to run away and call for help.

They fled in a stolen black 2011 Nissan Altima.

This is the second time the home, near Strathearne Avenue, has been attacked in two months. On March 22 a 34-year-old man was seriously injured during a home invasion when two men armed with an edged weapon forced their way into the house demanding drugs and money.

It’s not clear if the two robberies are related. In both cases police searched the neighbourhood, but found no suspects.

In the Saturday home invasion the suspects are described as:

A black man in his 20s, six-foot, slim build and wearing dark clothing;

A Hispanic man in his 20s, short and wearing dark clothing;

A black man in his 50s, with a heavy build and wearing dark clothing;

A black man described as wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Const. Greg Mills at 905-546-2957, or to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
