Child taken to hospital after being struck by vehicle in Waterdown
A child struck by a vehicle in Waterdown was sent to Joseph Brant hospital in Burlington.
Hamilton police, paramedics and firefighters responded to the scene at Evans Road and Highway 5 around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday.
The fire department initally reported the collision as a “vital signs absent” call on its Twitter feed.
Department spokesperson Claudio Mostacci later said he couldn’t comment on the patient’s condition.
A Global videographer and freelance photographer were arrested at the scene. The Global videographer was later released, but as of 8 p.m., the freelance photographer remained in custody.
Police didn’t respond to calls requesting details about the collision or the arrests.
