Thief hits man on head with gun be­fore driv­ing off with SUV in Hagersville

HAGERSVILLE — A thief struck a man on the head with a gun be­fore driv­ing away with his lux­ury SUV in broad day­light Monday, Haldimand OPP say.

Po­lice say the vic­tim had just put some money in the pas­sen­ger side of his Lin­coln on Main Street North in Hagersville when a man grabbed him from be­hind and de­manded the cash just be­fore 2:25 p.m.

The man hit him in the head with a gun be­fore driv­ing away with the SUV, po­lice said. Paramedics treated the vic­tim at the scene.

The sus­pect is de­scribed as an indige­nous man, about 20 to 25 years old. He’s about six feet tall and 160 pounds. He has dark hair in a brush cut. A teardrop and a cross is tat­tooed at the cor­ner of his right eye. He was wearing a wind­breaker, track pants with a white stripe, a dark base­ball cap. He was car­ry­ing a back pack.
