Master of Fine Arts art fair at Cot­ton Fac­tory

A new na­tional art fair aimed at show­cas­ing Cana­dian MFA stu­dents will take over Hamil­ton’s his­toric Cot­ton Fac­tory this week­end.

Plus Art Fair (Plus AF) is be­ing or­ga­nized by the Toronto-based non­profit arts pro­moter Keep Six Con­tem­po­rary Art to pro­vide a plat­form for emerg­ing artists to ex­hibit and sell their work.

“The fair will wel­come a tal­ented se­lec­tion of cur­rent MFA (Master of Fine Arts) can­di­dates and re­cent alumni rep­re­sent­ing mul­ti­ple univer­si­ties across Canada,” Keep Six said in a state­ment an­nounc­ing Plus AF.

The event, which also fea­tures panel dis­cus­sions and cu­rated cater­ing, kicks off Thursday, May 18, at 7 p.m. with an open­ing night re­cep­tion and con­tin­ues 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fri­day and Satur­day, with hours of 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sun­day.

Or­ga­niz­ers are sup­ply­ing daily shut­tle bus ser­vice from Toronto to Hamil­ton.

The Cot­ton Fac­tory is lo­cated at 270 Sher­man Ave. N.
