WOODHOUSE — A would-be manure thief was making off with a pile when a Norfolk County property owner caught him in the act.

OPP say a man started removing the manure from the Woodhouse property in Woodhouse on Sunday and Monday.

The owner of the Radical Road residence confronted the man, who then jumped in a van and drove south on Port Ryerse Road.

Police say they have the licence plate and planned to contact the owner of the van.

“The OPP would like to remind all residents about trespassing laws as well as potential charges of theft when any items are removed off another person’s property without their permission. If it doesn’t belong to you, then don’t touch it or remove it,” Const. Ed Sanchuk said in a press relesae.
