138 tickets in Burlington traffic blitz
BURLINGTON — Halton police say they issued 138 tickets, charged two drivers with impaired and impounded two vehicles as part of a traffic enforcement project in Burlington.
Project Safe Commute was in response to community complaints about aggressive driving during the morning and afternoon commutes, police said.
The third phase of the project took place Tuesday in Burlington, with officers dedicating a combined 98 hours in 15 high-traffic areas in the city.
The tickets included offences ranging from distracted driving to speeding, with more than one driver stopped going more than 40 kilometres over the limit. Police also issued 28 warnings.
