Take a few steps in Dundas for Autism Speaks Canada

The Hamilton Spectator - - LOCAL -

Dundas walk ambassador Liam Blanche hopes the community will join him June 24 as he takes steps to raise money for Autism Speaks Canada.

The second annual three-kilometre walk takes place at the Dundas Driving Park. Registration is at 9 a.m.

Liam was diagnosed with autism just before his third birthday.

In the seven years since, dad Dave Blanche said his son — a St. Augustine school student — has met his challenges and blown past any expectation his family cold have imagined.

“Liam is a great example of how a child on the autism spectrum can achieve great things with personalized support,” said Blanche.

“Speech therapy gave Liam his voice; behavioural therapy gave him direction.”

To walk, volunteer, become a corporate sponsor or make a donation, visit ASCWalk.ca and click on “Dundas.”
