This brand of conservatism is frightening

The Hamilton Spectator - - OPINION -

RE: Give me traditional conservative values (May 24)

Every so often, I read a letter in The Spectator that makes me say, “Thank goodness that writer is not my neighbour.” This person’s definition of conservatism appears to include having control over a woman’s body and what she chooses to wear, as well as deciding that traditional religious beliefs should be at the root of societal rules. If that is real conservatism, let’s make sure it never gets to run the country! Eileen Collins, Hamilton
