“Tory clique” rears its head again

The Hamilton Spectator - - OPINION -

RE: Nigel Wright broke ethics rules: report (May 26)

When reading this particular article, a Grade 6 history lesson comes to old man’s mind: The Family Compact. Or shall we say, Gentlemanly Capitalism? It is still done, in this and perhaps in many other situations.

Especially those in the Senate! After all, the Senate is derived from The House of Lords. Oh, yes! Let us set up some trivia from the CRA, and who bears the costs when a member of Parliament is elected or appointed, and then having to pay the upkeep of two or more residences?

So the $90,000 was paid, and Mike Duffy? It was an error of his ways. Many of us have been wondering whether Nigel Write depleted his own bank-account to do this? Oh well, that’s really none of our business! (Or is it?) To quote Lord Durham: “a petty corrupt insolent Tory clique.” Carlyle Orlando Franklin, Hamilton
