OPP search­ing for sus­pect af­ter man sprayed in face dur­ing dis­pute with teens in Cale­do­nia

CALE­DO­NIA — Haldimand OPP are in­ves­ti­gat­ing af­ter a man was sprayed with an un­known sub­stance dur­ing a ver­bal dis­pute with a group of teenagers in a skate park.

Po­lice say they’re look­ing for a male sus­pect who’s thought to have sprayed the man in the face af­ter 10 to 12 teens swarmed the vic­tim.

The al­leged as­sault, which in­jured the man’s eyes, hap­pened around 8 p.m. Fri­day at the Hadding­ton Street skate park.

Po­lice say the vic­tim had gone to the park to speak with a teen about an “on­go­ing con­cern in­volv­ing one of his fam­ily mem­bers.”

OPP are ask­ing the pub­lic to help iden­tify the sus­pect. He’s about five-foot-seven with thin build. He was wear­ing big, dark glasses, a flat-brimmed black hat and car­ry­ing a back­pack. Any­one with in­for­ma­tion is asked to con­tact OPP at 1888-310-1122
