RE: CityDish winner

Kudos to Emma Reilly for her column about various foods that define Hamilton. You can travel to any city and find places to eat that are unique to the area, but I have always been proud of the selection we have here and are familiar with all of them. And although there are a lot of hidden gems in the Hammer, too many to mention here, the finalists in her poll were an impressive bunch. The only problem I had with this is that although Tim Hortons got its start here, it is hardly a local concern anymore, but we can let that slide. My point is, even if Toronto or New York has their go to places, so do we and that’s important because we all love food right? But when my friends from the area who now live in Alabama return for a visit, where do they make sure they go while here? Easterbrooks for a hotdog and Denninger’s for the European delights. And who doesn’t love a good hometown story eh? Carl W. Ambridge, Hamilton
