Kite Festival to fly in Ancaster July 9

-

The Ancaster Agricultural Society is launching its first Kite Festival July 9.

Deb Lum, chair of the festival, said a kite-flying event has been talked about for a long time and finally came to fruition this year.

“With all the breezes we get out here, it’s the perfect spot,” she said. “And it will keep the Canada 150 party soaring.”

The day will feature a kids’ kite-making clinic, bubbles, balloon animals, face painting, demonstrations by professional kite flyers and plenty of vendors.

“Even if people don’t want to fly a kite, they’re welcome at the fairgrounds to come and take a look around,” said Lum.
