BMXer in brawl at Jack­son Square gets con­di­tional dis­charge

A young BMX rider charged with as­sault in a brawl with Jack­son Square se­cu­rity guards that was video­taped and posted to YouTube in 2014 has been given a con­di­tional dis­charge in court.

Tyler Rizzi — who at the time was 24 and gave an ad­dress in Whitchurch-Stouf­fville, pleaded guilty last Novem­ber to as­sault.

Af­ter sev­eral missed court dates — one of which he was on a plane trav­el­ling to Europe — he was fi­nally sen­tenced June 27.

Rizzi was given a con­di­tional dis­charge and put on pro­ba­tion for 18 months.

He is also pro­hib­ited from own­ing or pos­sess­ing weapons for five years.
