Sus­pect ar­rested in Burling­ton shoot­ing

Two peo­ple in a car were shot at in a Burling­ton mo­tel park­ing lot late Tues­day morn­ing, in what Hal­ton po­lice are call­ing a “tar­geted in­ci­dent.”

No one was hurt, but the car was hit with what Hal­ton po­lice said was a “sin­gle gun­shot” out­side the Mo­tel 6, at 4345 North Ser­vice Rd., around 11:30 a.m.

Of­fi­cers were called to the scene, but found both the vic­tims and the sus­pect, be­lieved to be a lone man, had al­ready fled in sep­a­rate ve­hi­cles. At ap­prox­i­mately 4:30 p.m. Tues­day, a sus­pect was lo­cated in Hamil­ton and ar­rested with­out in­ci­dent. The ve­hi­cle that was shot at was found aban­doned a few kilo­me­tres away at Main­way and Dil­lon Road.
