Give Khadr’s money to families
RE: Omar Khadr
Canadians believe in the rule of law and the sanctity of our charter rights. However, much of this Khadr affair sits badly with the average citizen — the payout, the timing (Parliament recessed), and the secrecy.
Mr. Khadr can do much to assuage Canadian outrage by making two simple gestures: he can apologize to the American victims (even with using the caveat of being a brainwashed child at the time) and he can gave the victims’ families the $10.5 million (or at least half ). Then, perhaps, the stench would dissipate. Gerard Shkuda, Burlington
