Chinese business deals a fact of life

The Hamilton Spectator - - OPINION - RE: China’s abuses aren’t fake news (July 7)

The Spec might editorialize ad nauseam about the impropriety of dealing with a human rights abuser like China, but the picture of a recently made Chinese Great Lakes freighter delivering steel ingots to ArcelorMittal Dofasco’s Hamilton docks, as featured in 150th celebration issue of Canadian Geographic, makes a mockery of The Spec’s viewpoint. Of course, if The Spec really wants to take a stand on trade with China, perhaps an investigative report on CSL or Algoma’s collaboration with Chinese ship building industries might prove revealing. Or are guys like former prime minister Paul Martin of CSL beyond question? Douglas L. Martin, Hamilton
