Oakville man charged with voyeurism

OAKVILLE — A 44-year-old Oakville man is fac­ing a voyeurism charge af­ter al­legedly be­ing caught film­ing a woman in a com­mu­nity cen­tre change room.

Hal­ton po­lice were called af­ter a woman pre­par­ing to go swim­ming at the Iro­quois Ridge Com­mu­nity Cen­tre on Gle­nash­ton Drive in Oakville caught a man film­ing her Mon­day.

The Town of Oakville and tips from the pub­lic helped to iden­tify the sus­pect. Po­lice noted there is no in­for­ma­tion chil­dren were tar­geted and this is the first in­ci­dent re­ported to po­lice in­volv­ing the ac­cused.

On Thurs­day Ritesh Shah, 44, of Oakville was charged with one count of voyeurism. He was re­leased on a prom­ise to ap­pear in court at a later date.
