Woman, 23, dies fol­low­ing week­end Wa­ter­down crash

A 23-year-old Bar­rie woman in­jured in a crash Satur­day night in Wa­ter­down has died.

Hamil­ton po­lice said the woman, whose name has not been re­leased, died Mon­day.

She was a pas­sen­ger in a ve­hi­cle driven by a 45-year-old Hamil­ton man that struck an­other ve­hi­cle from be­hind.

The ac­ci­dent hap­pened about 9 p.m. on Satur­day on High­way 5, at Mill Street.

The 45-year-old driver was also in­jured in the crash, but was soon re­leased from hos­pi­tal.

A 67-year-old Brant­ford man, who was west­bound on High­way 5 when he was struck from be­hind, was not in­jured.

Po­lice said the ex­act cause of the woman’s death has not yet been de­ter­mined.
