Police and border officers say they’ve disrupted a criminal organization that was importing heroin destined for Hamilton.

A package with 734 grams of suspected heroin was intercepted in London, England, on June 22. The heroin, valued at about $146,000, was coming from Kenya and headed to Hamilton.

Canada Border Services Agency and the RCMP were notified and an ensuing investigation led officers to execute search warrants at two residences in Hamilton and Simcoe.

The RCMP is searching for Okeke Obi, a 40-year-old Nigerian citizen, wanted on a charge of importing a controlled substance.
