Man charged af­ter dog left in hot car dies

A Cal­gary man has been charged af­ter a dog was left in a hot car and died. The Cal­gary Hu­mane So­ci­ety says it took the dead fe­male black lab from a neigh­bour­hood on the city’s east side last week. In­ves­ti­ga­tors be­lieve the dog had been left in a car for an ex­tended pe­riod of time and died be­cause it got too hot. Tem­per­a­tures out­side at the time reached 31 C. The agency says Jeremy Quaile, who is 45, has been charged with caus­ing an an­i­mal to be in dis­tress.
