Canadians post squash victories
TAURANGA, NEW ZEALAND — Canada’s Nicole Kendall and Charlotte Orcutt posted second-round victories Wednesday at the world junior squash championships.
Kendall, from Newmarket, defeated American Laila Sedky, 11-4, 8-11, 11-4, 11-8, at the Devoy Squash & Fitness Centre. Orcutt, from Toronto, beat Fanny Segers of France, 10-12, 11-9, 11-9, 14-12.
Kendall will play Egypt’s Rowan Reda Araby in the third round on Thursday while Orcutt will take on Malaysia’s Zoe Foo Yuk Han.
Toronto’s Salaheldin Eltorgman, the lone Canadian in the men’s singles draw, dropped an 11-2, 11-6, 11-3 decision to Egypt’s Youssef Ibrahim.
