Won­der Woman, a.k.a. Melissa Pearce, takes a break from sav­ing the world and poses for a pho­to­graph out­side Hamil­ton City Hall on Sat­ur­day. Pearce and hun­dreds of other en­thu­si­asts of cos­play (which, for the unini­ti­ated, means “cos­tume play” es­pe­cially re­served for su­per­heroes and other fan­tasy char­ac­ters) con­verged on the Hamil­ton Con­ven­tion Cen­tre for ConBravo!, a new me­dia, gam­ing, comics and anime love-in.

The Art Gallery of Hamil­ton held a fam­ily pic­nic Sun­day af­ter­noon with a bar­be­cue, ac­tiv­i­ties for the kids as well as free gallery ad­mis­sion and tours. Richard Pack­ham, 6, takes aim at his paint­ing.

En­thu­si­asts were at the Cana­dian War­plane Her­itage Mu­seum in Mount Hope to look at clas­sic cars and planes dur­ing Vin­tage Wheels and Wings. Kitch­ener’s Gre­gory Boy­ing­ton, sport­ing some vin­tage gear, takes a look.

Hun­dreds of peo­ple came to the Hamil­ton Con­ven­tion Cen­tre for ConBravo! The three-day fes­ti­val cel­e­brates comic books, car­toons, ac­tion he­roes and gam­ing fig­ures, and gives ev­ery­one a chance to dress up as a favourite char­ac­ter. At left, Spiderman and Dead­pool clown it up. At right, Lara, from Bramp­ton, plays Mount Lady, a saucy Ja­panese car­toon char­ac­ter with su­per­pow­ers. She poses atop a mo­tor­cy­cle.
