HAMIL­TON OLD­TIMERS’ BASE­BALL OR­GA­NI­ZA­TION The Dodgers held off a fu­ri­ous rally by the A’s to post a 17-16 vic­tory. Rob Whitenect, with a dou­ble and triple, and Ron Bo­cock and Doug Jack­son, with two hits and three RBIs apiece, led the Dodgers at the plate. Mike Fazari, Brian Avery and Brian Fraser each had two hits and two RBIs for the Dodgers. Ted Pritchard, Al­lan Agnew and Mike Parisi banged out three hits apiece in a los­ing ef­fort for the A’s, with Pritchard driv­ing in three runs and Agnew and Parisi each driv­ing in a pair. Tom McGrat­tan had a three-run dou­ble for the A’s. Mean­while, Steven McClure and Keith Howard chipped in with two hits apiece. HAMIL­TON FOOT­BALL AS­SO­CI­A­TION Ban­tam Tiger-Cats de­feated the Lon­don Jr Mus­tangs in post-sea­son play on July 29, at Ron Joyce Sta­dium, 20-13 to cap­ture the On­tario Pro­vin­cial Foot­ball League West­ern Di­vi­sion Con­fer­ence Fi­nal.

ON THE PAD­DOCK

HAMIL­TON HOR­NETS RUGBY FOOT­BALL CLUB Hamil­ton se­nior men held off the Ni­a­gara Wasps for 25 min­utes be­fore the scor­ing del­uge. The score was 28-0 at half­time but The Hor­nets didn’t give up. Jeff Dowhan touched down the lone try and Will Redgate kicked the con­vert. The fi­nal score was 73-7.

Spe­cial Olympics is an or­ga­ni­za­tion for in­di­vid­u­als with in­tel­lec­tual dis­abil­i­ties to pro­mote op­por­tu­ni­ties to de­velop phys­i­cal fit­ness, demon­strate courage, ex­pe­ri­ence joy, and de­velop skills and friend­ship with their fam­i­lies, other Spe­cial Olympic ath­letes and the com­mu­nity. COACH­ING HAMIL­TON SMASH VOL­LEY­BALL CLUB The club is seek­ing as­sis­tant and po­ten­tial head coaches for the 20172018 in­door sea­son. Coaches are ex­pected to at­tend prac­tices twice a week, oc­ca­sional week­end tour­na­ments and be will­ing to de­velop their coach­ing skills through on­go­ing ed­u­ca­tional op­por­tu­ni­ties.
