Thorn­hill man, 24, pulled from lake dies

Hamil­ton po­lice say the man who died af­ter he was pulled with­out vi­tal signs from Gul­liver’s Lake in Flam­bor­ough Tues­day was a 24-year-old from Thorn­hill.

He was tak­ing part in a work­place gath­er­ing when he was seen out­side of the marked swim­ming area, po­lice said.

“Co-work­ers later no­ticed the vic­tim was miss­ing and found him un­der­wa­ter at which time he was re­moved and CPR was per­formed.”

Emer­gency crews were called around 3 p.m. to Gul­liver’s Lake Park at 792 Sa­fari Rd. The man was flown by air am­bu­lance to Hamil­ton Gen­eral Hos­pi­tal, where he was later pro­nounced dead.

Po­lice said they are as­sist­ing the coro­ner’s of­fice with the in­ves­ti­ga­tion.
