OPP officer not guilty of impaired

-

An OPP officer who was accused of impaired driving in Hamilton in three years ago has been acquitted of the charges against him.

John Tibay, 48, went through a number of adjournments in his case, but ended up having a trial.

In a judgment Friday, Justice Anthony Leitch found him not guilty of impaired driving and of having more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood while driving. Tibay was charged on Aug. 15, 2014 after a car was found on the concrete median between on Rymal Road East near Upper Centennial Parkway.
