Burlington recognized for public engagement
FOR THE RECORD
The City of Burlington was recognized for engaging with the public by the International Association for Public Participation Canada at its annual Core Values Awards in Denver last week.
IAP2 Canada named the municipality “Organization of the Year” for applying the community engagement charter, which it adopted in 2013. The charter recognizes an agreement between the city and its residents to consult and engage with them. It involves a full-time staff position for training communications department staff in IAP2 tools for consulting with the public.
