Man charged in Hamilton con­ve­nience store rob­bery

Po­lice have charged a 32-year-old man in con­nec­tion with a con­ve­nience store rob­bery.

Hamilton po­lice say a man en­tered a con­ve­nience store lo­cated in the area of Welling­ton Street North and Robert Street on Sept. 7 bran­dish­ing what ap­peared to be a firearm and ob­tained money from the store em­ployee.

On Oct. 4 Hamilton po­lice uni­form pa­trol of­fi­cers ar­rested a sus­pect. Ryan Phillips is charged with rob­bery, us­ing an im­i­ta­tion firearm dur­ing the com­mis­sion of an of­fence, and four counts of breach­ing pro­ba­tion.
