A story in Monday’s paper contained an incorrect description of McMaster Engineering student Vanessa Raponi. Raponi, 23, of Toronto, self-identifies as a mixed-race queer woman. In addition, EngiQueers Canada was founded in 2016. An incorrect date was contained in the story. A story in Monday’s paper said the Germans surrendered in Europe in September, 1945. That’s when the Second World War ended with Japan surrendering. The European war ended in May, 1945. Gord Conroy’s name was spelled incorrectly in an article about the Ancaster Memorial Arts Centre in Tuesday’s paper. The Spectator regrets the errors.
