The 2017 in­ductees into the Hamil­ton Gallery of Distinc­tion were rec­og­nized Tues­day night. From left: Vitek Wincza, stand­ing, founded the Cana­dian Bal­let Youth En­sem­ble; Ed Cum­mings, seated, worked on the Hamil­ton Santa Claus pa­rade and the an­nual Ir­ish Per­son of the Year luncheon; Mau­reen Wor­ron-Sauve, seated, worked glob­ally to bring aware­ness about sclero­derma; Frank Raso, stand­ing, has been in­volved in var­i­ous causes with the Ital­ian com­mu­nity, Opera Hamil­ton and the HPO; Tom and Sasha Weisz are well-known phi­lan­thropists. Gwen Met­calfe, above, who was in­ducted posthu­mously, was re­spon­si­ble for the restora­tion of Dun­durn Cas­tle, home of Sir Al­lan MacNab. It is now a Na­tional His­toric Site.
