Look who’s opposed to a decent wage

The Hamilton Spectator - - COMMENT -

RE: Minimum wage debate

On Jan. 2 the CBC and other news outlets reported that the top CEOs in Canada earn more than 200 times an average salary and that shortly before 11 a.m. on Jan. 2 the top CEOs earned what the average worker earns in an entire year. That’s the average worker salary, not the lowest or minimum wage salary, which is obviously significantly lower then average.

On the same day the provincial government, in the face of cries of outrage from those same CEOs raised the minimum wage in Ontario in an effort to provide a living wage to thousands of low income workers currently living in poverty.

The irony in all of this would be laughable if it was not so cruel. Don Courtnage, Ancaster
