The Hamilton Spectator - - BUSINESS -

The Hamilton/Burlington SPCA has received a $70,000 grant from PetSmart Charities of Canada to subsidize 1,200 spay/neuter surgeries in 2018.

This is the third year HBSPCA has received the money for their Hip to Snip spay/neuter program.

The subsidized procedures are mostly for cats in homes that may not be otherwise able to afford spaying or neutering their pets.

Over the past two years, grants from PetSmart Charities of Canada have helped the HBSPCA spay or neuter more than 1,900 pets.
