PHILLIPS, Earle Walter

October 11, 1937 - February 12, 2018 Earle passed away peacefully on February 12, 2018 with his family by his side at St. Peter’s Hospital, Hamilton, Ontario, in his 81st year. Predeceased by his loving wife Betty (nee Robertson). Much loved father to his children, Scott, Ian (Kelly), Debley (Scott) and Cindy (Kirk). Cherished grandfather to Liana, Brittany, Sean, Dylan, Shannon, Elyssa, Nicole and Kyle. Lovingly remembered by his brother, Don Phillips and his family in Thorndale, Ontario. Predeceased by his sister Carolyn Bilyea and his daughter-inlaw Theresa. Earle will be dearly missed by his loving companion, Gabriele Klimstra and fondly remembered by his extended family and many friends. Earle was a teacher and Vice Principal in Hamilton and Halton before retiring in 1991. He was also a long time member of the Canadian and Ontario Orienteering Federations and HKF. Earle was an avid runner, most recently completing a 10k run in November. When not running, he loved to spend his days fishing at his cottage on Lake Shawanaga. Family and close friends are invited to a visitation to celebrate Earle’s life to be held on March 3, 2018 from 1-4 p.m. at Southcote 53 Tap and Grill, 534 Garner Rd. East, Ancaster, Ontario. Donations to the Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
