Fire department urges safety ahead of holiday weekend

The Hamilton Spectator - - Local -

With Victoria Day approaching, the Hamilton Fire Department is reminding residents that fireworks can only be set off on your own property, and only on Victoria Day or the two days immediately before or after the holiday Monday. The department says that if you do plan to celebrate by setting off fireworks, you should follow safety precautions, including having adults handle the fireworks, carefully reading and following instructions, and keeping a pail of water or hose nearby. If a firework is a dud or misfires, approach it with caution and never try to re-light it. For more safety tips, visit Hamil Fire.
