Hamil­ton man charged with co­caine possession af­ter traf­fic stop

A 27-year-old Hamil­ton man is charged with possession of co­caine and fail­ing to com­ply with pro­ba­tion af­ter a traf­fic stop. Hamil­ton po­lice pulled over a car around 3:30 p.m. Tues­day in the area of Bar­ton Street East and Lin­coln Street. The of­fi­cer had been alerted to the car be­cause of “ques­tion­able driv­ing ac­tions” and a search re­vealed the sta­tus of the li­cence plate was “re­turned to the Min­istry of Trans­porta­tion.” The of­fi­cer pulled over the ve­hi­cle, where upon fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tion it was clear the driver had a war­rant for his ar­rest for fail­ing to com­ply with a pro­ba­tion or­der, po­lice said. The 27-year-old is sched­uled to appear in court June 13.
