Hamilton man charged with cocaine possession after traffic stop
A 27-year-old Hamilton man is charged with possession of cocaine and failing to comply with probation after a traffic stop. Hamilton police pulled over a car around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Barton Street East and Lincoln Street. The officer had been alerted to the car because of “questionable driving actions” and a search revealed the status of the licence plate was “returned to the Ministry of Transportation.” The officer pulled over the vehicle, where upon further investigation it was clear the driver had a warrant for his arrest for failing to comply with a probation order, police said. The 27-year-old is scheduled to appear in court June 13.
