Car fire in Stoney Creek underground garage

Hamilton firefighters extinguished a car fire in an underground parking garage in Stoney Creek Friday morning.

Residents of 95 Barlake Ave., an apartment building near Barton Avenue East and Lake Avenue North, had to leave their units while firefighters tackled the blaze just before 6 a.m.

There was minimal smoke inside the building, with openings in the underground garage allowing it to escape.

The cause of the blaze is still undetermined.
