WITH DALLAS STARS CENTER TYLER SEGUIN
Your favorite player growing up?
Steve Yzerman was my favorite player. I liked the way he handled himself off the ice as well. He became a true leader.
Why do you wear No. 91?
It just felt right.
What was your “welcome to the NHL” moment?
It was a practice in my first year. I was battling in a 3-on-3 drill with Zdeno Chara, and I shoved him. He wasn’t looking at me, and I shoved his leg out from behind because I was pissed. He turned around and whacked me. And I whacked him back. He just beelined right to my face. I lost all manhood that day. That was my welcome to the NHL.
What’s your strangest fan interaction?
PG or not PG? The weirdest thing…I’ll say signing foreheads. The weird places we get asked to sign.
What’s the best thing about being an NHLer?
Best thing? I get to talk to you guys (reporters).
What’s the worst thing about being an NHLer?
Worst thing? I have to talk to you guys.
