PLAYMAKING

The Hockey News - - BUZZ -

BOTH PLAYERS HAVE ELITE hockey sense and puck skills and can execute passes under pressure. Kane’s first instinct is to move with the puck. He is always looking for an opening to score. He needs to have teammates to get him the puck when he is in motion. Kucherov’s game has matured. Despite scoring at a goal-per-game clip this season, his first instinct is to set up a teammate, especially Steven Stamkos. No matter who Kucherov is playing with, he makes that player better. His playmaking at the right point on the power play has been at the Erik Karlsson level. EDGE: KUCHEROV
