CONSISTENCY

The Hockey News - - BUZZ -

IN CLUTCH SITUATIONS, KANE is as dangerous as any player in hockey. With the game on the line, he can score goals, make plays and draw penalties. At those times, you can see the fire in his eyes. However, there can be entire shifts where you don’t notice him. He can hound the puck in the offensive zone, but in the defensive zone he can look like a smaller-than-average body looking for a teammate to spring him loose with a pass. Kucherov has been as good as any player in the NHL this season in large part because he has been a factor on virtually every shift. His positional play is sound and his commitment to defensive play is top-end. He’s even been yapping at opponents and arguing with officials. He means business and appears determined to reach the elite-level category in the NHL. EDGE: KUCHEROV
