Luck­i­est Goalie De­but Imag­in­able

On open­ing night of the NHL’s first sea­son, the Toronto Are­nas trav­elled to Mon­treal to face the Wan­der­ers. In­cred­i­bly, Mon­treal goalie Bert Lind­say, father of the great ‘Ter­ri­ble Ted,’ was the win­ning goalie in a 10-9 score. That’s right, he gave up nine goals in 60 min­utes and still ended up with the ‘W.’ It’s a record that stands to this day.
