Best Goalie Debut

Boston netminder ‘Tiny’ Thompson went into Pittsburgh to face the Pirates and not only earned a shutout in a 1-0 overtime win but also played 70 minutes in an era when 10 minutes of OT was the standard. He is the only goalie to win his debut game, via shutout, having played as many as 70 minutes. In all, only nine goalies played 70 minutes to start their career.
