SVEN BAERTSCHI was having a career season when a puck deflected off the glass and broke his jaw in December. That may have cost him a million dollars or so, because he wasn’t quite the same offensive playmaker and producer when he returned to the lineup a month later. Baertschi spent part of the first half of the season on Vancouver’s first line with Bo Horvat and rookie sensation Brock Boeser and was on pace for 22 goals and 49 points, both career highs. The 25-year-old scored at a 39-point pace upon his return from injury. But that’s enough to keep the Canucks intrigued on a deal that’s three or four years.
